Expert Solution

A)Explain that why do social scientists study close relationships?

Social scientists study close relationships to understand how close relationships protect people from the vicissitudes of life, how they help to delay mental and physical decline, and how they are a better predictor of long & happy lives than social class, education, IQ, or even genes.

B)What is meaning of capitalization in close relationships? How does it affect close relationships? Please explain it.

Capitalization in the close relationship is the process through which people share good news with a significant other (e.g, a friend, the partner, a family member), which in turn responds in an “active” way in order to maximize the benefits deriving from the event.

It affects close relationships in the sense that when a person capitalize by sharing his emotions or good news to his close ones, it brings positivity in life of both persons, they both celebrate such news, reciprocate feelings of each other and thus form a more firm and stronger closer relationship.
