Expert Solution

In current scenario, when competition is tough and hundreds of candidates are available for a job, it is imperative for the companies to make the selection process more stringent and accurate to hire the best fit. Hiring an individual only on his profile and experience does not make sense, as that does not reflect the overall individual. Inclusion of personality tests to determine the personality traits of a candidate helps the company in getting the holistic judgment about the candidate. It’s the personality that differentiates a candidate from another having same domain experience. Hence, personality tests must be included in the selection process of a company.

To include selection based on personality test, the company needs to do the following:

  • Evaluate job descriptions to identify the personality traits beneficial for the job
  • Conduct personality tests and BEI to understand the temperament and personality of a potential recruit
  • Based on the results of above, identify the best fits based on personality traits
  • This result can be combined with the skill set and overall experience of the candidate to evaluate him holistically for the job.
