Write a good and original short-answer or short-essay question that has context and background info leading up to the question and has to be more than 50 words. Question can be on Life cycles, Meiosis, Mendelian inheritance, Genetic linkage, sex chromosomes, or phage and bacterial genetics.
Life cycle means, the series of changes that the memers of a species undergo as they pass from the beginning of a developmental stage to the inception of that same developmental stage in a subsequent generation.
Meiosis means,a type of cell division that results in four daughter cells each with half the number of chromosomes of the parent cell as in the production of gametes and plant spores.
Mandalian inheritance is an inheritance pattern in which a gene inherited from either parent segregates into gametes at an equal frequency.
Genetic linkage is the tendency of DNA sequences that are close togother on a chromosome to be inherited togother during meiosis phasis of sextual reproduction.
Sex chromosome are a pair of chromosomes that determine whether an individual is male or female. The sex chromosomes are X and Y.In humans the sex hormones comprise one pair of the total of 23 pairs of chromosomes.
Phage and bacterial genetics;- During specialized transduction, specific genes near the phage-integration sites on the bacterial chromosome are mistakenly incorporated into phage genome and transferred to other cells by infection. DNA from the medium can enter a bacterial cell and integrate into the chromosome, ther by transforming the genotype.
