Describe why their claim that labeling “dopamine neurons as “reward" neurons, this is an overgeneralization?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Ans. The ventral tegmental area is mid brain structure that regulate different mental function related to reward and motivation processing. Dopamine release from VTA and the brain is wired to predict future outcomes, the dopamine works in brain to make sensation more effective. The dopamine neuro transmitter make relaxing mood as well as fell reward homeostatic. Dopamine projection from mid brain play a major role in behavioural reaction controlled by reward. When multicellular organism arose through the evolution of self-producing molecules, they developed endogenous auto regulatory mechanisms that assured need of welfare.

Reward have three basic functions, first, they elicit approach and consuming behaviour and serve a goal of voluntary behaviour. Second, reward has positive reinforcing effects that led to welfare sensation. Third, reward induce subjective feeling of pleasure and positive emotional. The dopamine help us to find three reward sensation so that the labelling of reward belong to dopamine.
