Pneumonia is swelling (inflammation) of the tissue in one or both lungs. It's usually caused by a bacterial infection. This pneumonia could be due to hospital-acquired, his history of empysema also increases the risk of getting pneumonia,Pneumonia often comes on suddenly, causing fever, chills, cough, and pus coughed up from the respiratory tract, symptoms of pneumonia include the following,
1. A cough, which may be dry, or produce thick yellow, green, brown or blood-stained mucus (phlegm), the color of mucus is a indication that it is caused by bacterial infection, The most common type of bacterial pneumonia is called pneumococcal pneumonia
2. Difficulty breathing ,your breathing may be rapid and shallow, and you may feel breathless, even when resting, When these bacteria reach your lungs, the lungs' air sacs (alveoli) can become inflamed and fill up with mucus. This makes breathing more difficult.
3. Rapid heart beat also known as tachycardia, this occurs because in pneumonia your lungs air sacs is filled with mucus, as a result amount of oxygen to the tissues become very less, this decrease in oxygen levels cause the rapid heart beat.
4. Chest pain , which gets worse when breathing or coughing, A pneumothorax ( collapse of lung) can result from damage to the lungs caused by conditions such as, pneumonia, this can cause chest pain.
