Expert Solution

1) What are your thoughts on athletes and doping?
In my opinion, athletes who are involved in doping has already killed the spirit of a sportsperson which is, participation is more important than winning. There is no difference between them and other criminals who steal, rob etc. because their act is very close to stealing something which is not theirs.

2) Why or why not should the use of PEDs be banned?
PED should be banned because someone should win with their natural abilities and not with the help of drugs that makes them different from their original self. This deception is not real. Think of a scenario where everyone uses performance enhancement drugs. There will be chaos because at times, they will be out of mind and why should they conduct that athletic event at all.

3) What advice would you give an athlete who was considering using PEDs?

The first advice I would give the athlete is that using PED is immoral and the athlete is in a way stealing someone's opportunity to win and spoiling the hardwork they put in to becoming an athlete. The second advice I would give the athlete is that using drugs will bring a guilty feeling for life because athletes are generally honest people who share the success of other athletes. Finally, I will tell the athlete that taking drugs weakens one's nervous system thus the entire physical structure over a period of time and here is always an opportunity that the athlete will become an addict to the drug.
