Reminder advertising is a marketing strategy that is typically used to remind the target customer group of an existing product or service introducing new features, etc. The main objective of reminder advertising is to build brand awareness of the product and also keep the product updated in the consumers mind. Some of the examples of such ads are 'Got Milk?' created for the California milk processor board to encourage people to drink cows milk. Another example is 'Dont forget your FedEx disscounts' ad.
This type of advertising can be used during the maturity stage of the product life cycle in order to avoid the decline in sales. Reminder advertising helps at this stage as it reminds the customers of the existing product with a new force. The message or the moto of the ad of the product can be changed and can be shown in a different light. This is done to promote sales or stop them from declining further.
