When you take the uneasy race relations in USA into
consideration, do you think that the
political executive and assembly in USA can fulfill the
institutional roles assigned to them?
Why? Why not? (Be sure that your answer includes a detailed
explaination of the functions of
both institutions)
Considering the current tensions in the US the members of assembly have a huge task ahead of them. This discrimination on the basis of color has been taking place for more than 200 years. Although we are living in the 21st century, many societies still believe that they are better then others on the basis of color, creed, caste etc. The recent discrimination towards people of African descent in the US has sparked outrage and brought a lot of people together who believe in equality and human rights for all.
The current political assembly in the US has a lot of decisions to make. They may have to change policies and amend laws which is a long procedure and a tenious one. However, looking at harassment the people have been facing over generations, it is high time that US makes ameds to their policies to inculcate values of equality. The constitution of US says all people will be treated equally but the current assembly is not able to guarantee this. Therefore, they really need to work on their laws and amend them accordingly.
