From the construction point of view, enumerate the common essential features of rotating electrical machines.

Solutions

Expert Solution

Every Rotating electrical machine Consist of

1.Stator(Which is stationary)

2.Rotor(Which is rotating)

Almost in all rotating electrical machines Stator produces field flux.

When this flux cuts the rotor conductor, which should be closed circuit produces torque(according to Faraday's law)

In every Rotating machine number of poles on the stator is equal to number of poles on the rotor

There should be a phase difference between time and space of electrical machine

In 3 phase machine time dispacement can be don be supply itself, while space dispacement is done by construction in which windings are separated by 120 degrees

In single phase machine time displacement is done by capacitor or auxiliary windings.

The field winding preferred in stator since it is easy to supply.

If the field winding is rotor then it requires slip rings and insulation.

In AC machines Stator should be laminated to overcome eddy current losses.

For DC machines lamination is not required.

The poles should be champers such that it creates sinusoidal flux distribution.
