Could the IPAB be considered “unethical” from the point of view of the failure to promote health and wellness by saying that mammograms aren’t really needed until the age of 50, or that PSA screening is unnecessary until after the age of 70?(300 words)
The Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB) created as apart of Affordable care act consisting of 15 members and selected by the President and confirmed by the Senate. It was charged to reduce the medicare , if spending exceeds the growth target. If no board is appointed,this power transfers automatically to Secretary of Health and Human service.Till date a board has been neither appointed or confirmed
This IPAB is considered to be unethical because it could take effect automatically and could even override the current Medicare system. The proposals are likely to restric patient access to needed healthcare and treatment.
They target on the new treatment in view to cut cost on the treatment
Nearly 650 organization expressing the concerns to repeal the IPAB
Mammogram:
Mammogram is the X ray picture of the Breast which is used to rule out breat cancer in women who as no signs and symptoms of the disease . It is generally preferred between 40years to 70years . This as its own drawbacks and benefits.

PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) is a test to rule out Prostate cancer in men
It is usually recommended after the age of 70 for every men. Person who are between age 55 and 69 can do this if they are at high risk for the disease
Benefits of early detection helps to start the treatment earlier for asuccessful result.
The ideal drawback is false positiveness and treatment for the same, which leads to side effects .If this mis-dignosis happens in early age of a person ,which ruins the life of an individual for rest of the life
Hence Mammogram for a women after 50 year and PSA for Men after 70 year is necessary.
Unnecessary if there is no risk factors.
