How would you define the role of primary care from the perspectives of health promotion and health protection? Why are these facets of primary care important, and how do they influence the business of healthcare?
ANSWER :
PRIMARY CARE : Primary health care is the first contact care which is provided to the patients by health care providers of the health care system where day to day activities are monitored. In this the interaction is maintained firstly with the patient and physician where the health problems are treated and care is continued within the health care organization. Based on the health conditions patients receive primary care or they are referred by physicians to secondary or tertiary health care services. Health is the primary motto of the primary care providers, and the members of health professionals are general physician, registered nurse, nurse practitioner.
The role of primary health care is to provide a good health free of disease conditions, improve well being of people, managing of chronic diseases and giving treatment for the better health, improving of health care services,health promotions. protection of health of patients, etc. Primary care is provided in a free of cost to the patients by health team providers. As the health care resources are increasing the quality of primary care is decreasing. Increasing in the health care providers, reducing of the resources are making to decline in quality management of services. This complete process influence the business of health care as the health care services are going to become expensive in the form of X-ray, surgeries, transplantation of organs, infusions and many more where the private organizations are making cash out with the disease conditions and with peoples health. From Government funding or agencies implementation of health care services are utilized to all public in promoting health and preventing disease conditions.
