1. wellness and disease prevention:
jehovah's witness believe that
- illness is a result of punishment by god for the sins that one
has committed. some of the examples could be false religion and
wicked spirits.
- prayer is a mode of coping from illness, change attitudes and
enhance spirituality.
- people who have resurrected do not require any healing as they
are free from inperfection
nursing interventions:
- confidentiality must be ensured while communicating with the
patient
- genuiness and veracity are required to establish rapport with
the patient
2. medication and treatment:
- blood transfusion and organ transplantation is a part of
cannabolism and against the will of jehovah
- blood transfusion and organ transplantation are against the
belief of jehovah's witness
- all modes of treatments must be explained to the patients
nursing interventions:
- if the patient refuses treatement, he or she has to sign a
consent stating that it is completely his or her decision and that
the hospital is not liable or blamed later for the risk involved in
refusing the treatment by the patient.
- if a patient is incompetant in making a decision, a proxy
decision maker family member must state about the patient's wish if
he or she would be competant.
