Describe how to make 500mL 0.435 M HNO3 from a 6.00M HNO3 solution. (Titration Lab)
A:- By applying the formula, M1V1 = M2V2 we have to solve this problem,
Initial values Final values
M1 = 6.00 M M2 = 0.435 M
V1 = ? V2 = 500 mL
V1 = ( M2 * V2 ) / M1
= ( 0.435 * 500 ) / 6.00
V1 = 36.25 mL
By taking 36.25 mL of 6.00 M HNO3 in measuring jar and make it diluted up to 500 mL by adding distilled water, hence we get 500 mL of 0.435 M HNO3 solution.
