Hi,

Today our world is so much developed.Risks for people are reducing day by day.now a days if people want to do transactions, that is withdrawal of money it is not need to go to the bank.A new method called Automatic Banking Machines are introduced. If you are travelling and you want to withdraw cash,an ABM can be used without paying any surcharges. In automatic banking automatic payments are take place.Automatic bank drafts are convenient and paperless means of paying bills.Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) is an Automatic Banking Machine. This ATM enables customer to perform financial transactions, such as cash withdrawals, deposits, transfer funds or obtaining account information.

There are two types of ABM.They are

1. Full Service ABM located on the premises of a financial institution:This offers deposits, withdrawal, payment of bills, and account balance information services to the customers

2. ABMs owned by a financial institution at an off premises location:These machines generally do not accept deposits, but offer other services to the customers.

An ATM is an Automatic Banking Machine.which allows customer to complete basic transaction without the help of bank representatives. The user access their account through a special type of plastic card that is encoded with magnetic strip. The strip contains an identification code that is transmitted to banks central computer by modem. In order to process their account transactions, they can insert their card into ATM.

Let us describe how this ATM works,it is given below:

An ATM consist of an input device and an output device.

Input devices:

1: Card Reader

2: Keypad

Output devices:

1: Speaker

2: Display Screen

3: Receipt Printer

4: cash Depositor

Lets describe hoe these devices works in briefly

Input Devices:

1: Card Reader:

In order to get information about the user a card reader is used. For that card is swiped in the ATM so that the card reader reads account information about the user by the magnetic strip on the back side of the card, that is used for connection with the card reader.

2: Keypad:

In the ATM machine there is a keypad which contain 48 and is interfaced to the processor. Each card has a unique PIN number,so that it is secured. After the card is recognized the machine asks for further details like, withdrawal ,balance enquiry,so that is selected using keypad and the pin number is also typed in the keypad.

Output devices:

1: Speaker:

If a particular key is pressed an audio feedback is provided for that speaker is used.

2: Display screen:

Most of the ATM uses a CRT screen or LCD screens. It displays the transaction information.

3: Receipt Printer:

The receipt is a piece of paper that shows the details regarding the transaction, date, time balance in the account.

4: Cash Dispenser:

The Central System of ATM machine is Cash Dispenser. It is also known as the heart of ATM.It will count the bill and give the required amount and the user can collect money from the cash dispenser.

Advantages of ATM:

There are several advantages for the ATM they are listed below:

1: It provides 24 hours of services.

2: It provide online credit purchase.

3: It is very much helpful during travels.

4: It provide privacy in communication with bank.

5: Using a single card all transactions like, withdrawal, deposits, balance check, bill payment all are provided.

6: Fast transactions.

Disadvantages of ATM:

There are also many disadvantages for ATM they are:

1: If the user forget the PIN number then it is difficult to provide the service.

2: Need to wait in queue if too many users are there in same ATM counter.

3: Some times there is no money in the ATM, so need to run to the next ATM.

4: If there is any problem with the credit card you cannot withdraw your money.

5: Risk of robbery.

The enhancement that I would like to add to this system is for the security. That is the security can be provided with the help of finger print. So that nobody can access our account.

Hope you help this ....

Thankyou......
