ANSWER: The Plains tribes were highly dependent on the buffalo for necessities such as food, tools, shelter, clothing, toys, and fuel. Basically, their survival depended greatly on the Buffalo. The Plains Indians killed and hunted buffalo only when it was needed, however when settlers came to started hunting buffalo as a sport in America. It leads to a caused a huge decline of the population of buffalo thus causing hassles for the Plains Indians to survive. It gradually damaged the lack of the essentials they required to survive; and now the Plains tribes had to find new sources of food, clothing materials and building materials. The American settlers were already aware that the buffalo were important to Plains tribes; and they took it as an opportunity to remove the Plains tribes from their land, ending their nomadic living approach, and placing them in order with what the American government considered to be civilized
