Vitamin D is not the one that builds bones but it is also responsible for the formation of bones .

In our skin 7 dehydrocholestrol is converted to cholecalciferol in the presenxe if sunlight in the environment

This is then converted to 25 hydroxy cholecalciferol

The 26 hydroxy cholecalciferol Will convert into 1,25- dihydroxycholecalciferol

Which is reason for the absorption of calcium from the intestine and results the calcium storage . The osteoblasts and osteoclast will build the bone and vitamin D will cause absorption of calcium from the tract .
