Mr QoS versus Mr Bandwidth
The BCR article on "Mr Qos vs Mr Bandwidth" says how the network speed improves via the Qos method of the Bandwidth method.when ever we users or the providers feel that the data is being transferred too slowly , we either look at as an issue of bandwidth is being too small or the qos is being very poor.once we get the point , then we will improve the bandwidth or the qos(quality of service). Then the BCR article compares the benefits and methodology on both bandwidth and qos.
first of all we have to know what is QoS(Quality of service) and Bandwidth
Quality of Service is (QoS) refers to any technology that manages data traffic to reduce packet loss, latency and jitter on the network. Qos controls and manages network resources by setting priorities for specific types of data on the network.certain QoS mechanisms can manage data traffic quality and maintain the Qos requirements specified in SLAs.
Bandwidth is the capacity of a wired or wireless network communications link to transmit the maximum amount of data from one point to another over a computer network or internet connection in a given amount of time , usually it is one second.bandwidth traditionally expressed in bits per second(bps). The more bandwidth a data connection has, the more data it can send and receive at one time.
Here, first we have to know about some differences between Bandwidth and QoS, then we will get to some conclusion about our subject.
Here, when a drain chronically runs slow even though it isn't plugged, it's time to get a bigger pipe for that. That is pretty much the conventional wisdom about network connectivity -if links slow down, get bigger links.
That has proved to be a useful rule if you judge by the progress of Ethernet, for example. It started out slow at 10Mbps, then grew faster at 100Mbps, then 1Gbps and now 10Gbps with higher speeds coming into sight. As network traffic increased, networks slowed because of congestion, so business built faster networks.
"Throwing more bandwidth" at the problem doesn't solve anything, it just hides the problem. In IP network you should always prepare baseling Qos architecture to guarantee delivery of critical traffic and manage other traffic parameters(like jitter or delay) for different classes of traffic.
As per the point that 'Mr Qos versus Mr Bandwidth' , in my opinion the debate is over the best way to run voice and other real-time traffic over the Internet, quality of service (QoS) versus bandwidth. we all know that more bandwidth is better, and many believe that having enough bandwidth eliminates the need to do anything special for voice, video or other delay- and loss-sensitive traffic. In other words, if you have enough bandwidth, these flows don't need quality of their performance. Other people aren't so sure, and the author confesses that he is one of them. The advantages offered by QoS and Bandwidth are discussed. Finally, the author suggests that more bandwidth and user control is a winning combination for both carriers and customers.
And, This is about the article of "Mr QoS versus Mr Bandwidth" in my words
