For a simulation model, what is verification and what is validation? What is typically
more difficult to complete thoroughly?
Simulation model typically follows the VV&A process i.e. verification, validation and accreditation
Verification is the process which determines whether implementation of model and the data associated with it represent the data precisely according to description and specifications mentioned by developer.
Validation is the determination of the correctness of the model and the data associated with it are the most precise representation of the present reality from the point of view of the planned results of the model. Generally, Model assumption is being done by validation by 2 methods either by structural assumption and data assumption by examining system working.
Typically, validation is more difficult because it focuses on the yield of the model, and if that approval suggests an issue will more validation should me performed on the model.
