Caribbean perspectives on social structure is yet to provide an adequate explanation for emergent social phenomena in our societies.
What is your view? Use empirical studies conducted in the English speaking Caribbean to support your position.
Caribbean perspective on social structure is seen as functionalist perspective. It means, a society is formed by different parts to work as a whole, example, we need shops for buying stuffs and so does the shopkeeper needs us. Just like a machine, where one part can't function without another, say for example a computer who can't work without a mother board. Society in the same way functions when all it's part are connected and work as a whole. However, Caribbean history is to be understood before studying the society, the history of slavery , where functionalist perspective may not provide the comolcom understanding. When it comes to english speaking carribeans, functionalist perspective is useful as they have incorporated many systems like educational system from the Europeans.
When it comes to Major societies, functionalist perspective may work out as the schools, governments, people all are interrelated to each other.
