identify and discuss at least three (3) of the forces by which an organization would choose to adopt a front-back structure
The front-back structure is designed to divide the company into two. One part is oriented to the customer and/or the geographic region within which the company conducts its businesses and the second is the one organized by product and technology. Therefore, in order to successfully adopt the front-back structure, the company needs to identify and capitalize on the new streams of revenue, put in place pricing and sales policies for the region of choice and also the procedures to be adhered to by the department, and finally take advantage of the benefits of collaboration with other departments so that they can effectively accomplish their goals and develop new business opportunities .The above-mentioned summary of the external and internal strategic forces are basically the things to consider especially when designing a structure built around products, geographies, functions, or customers. The structure is important for it determines if the rest of the design will align with the company’s strategy especially where communication channels, power distributions, and the reporting relationships are to be considered.
