Explain both, "War is the health of the State." and "When goods don't cross borders, soldiers will."
Statement 1:
The statement says that war is used as a tool by the state. If the state is healthy, prosperous and growing with its own economic activities, then discussion on war does not happen. When an economy suffers, and people become fragmented against the government, then the state can initiate or start talking more about the war. It makes them come under one umbrella in the name of nationalism and ready to support the state in war. It brings state to have complete control of the resources and internal problems are avoided in the short term. Besides, war also gives opportunity for economic growth and state takes its benefits. So, the statement is rightly said.
Statement 2:
The statement says that
international trade makes nations compliment each other, as excess
demand of cone country is catered by the excess supply of another
country. It builds strategic relations and countries have friendly
relations. But, when no trade happens, the economy starts facing
problems and once solution is to capture the another country for
the gain of themselves. It creates war and soldiers cross the
border. So, the statement is said.
