Which countries have the highest numbers of women in political office globally? Which countries have the lowest numbers of women in political office globally? The involvement of women in political offices is a controversial issue in society, the male dominant society reacts unconditionally for women office workers. The role of women surrounded by gender stereotyping, cultures and traditions etc.
The culture and beliefs influence the social view towards women, women participation in formal politics and offices are lower than men throughout the world.
Factors affecting women participation in offices-
Culture- The culture is a primary factor that effects the perception towards women. The cultural barriers reduce the probability for women to work in office and participate in formal politics. Some communities do not allow the women to work with men so that men get dominancy and number of women reduce.
Gender Stereotyping- Gender stereotyping is important factor which affects the participation of women. Some communities believes that women are not stronger as men so they do not assign work and jobs. Gender plays an important role to build place in society and if we live in male dominant society, the problem of gender stereotyping increase proportionally.
Family management- A woman refers as a person who is responsible for child care, family care so that they do not get the chance to perform their abilities. Control of male in a family also reduce the chance to participation of women if the person is conservative.
Countries that have highest number of women in offices- European countries as Germany, France etc. have more number of participation of women in offices, some Latin countries also experienced high number of women participation.
Countries that have lowest number of women in offices- Muslim and Middle eastern countries influenced by the cultural phenomena so they do not allow the women to work in offices, the number of participation in very less in these countries like Oman, Qatar, Pakistan etc.
