Answer-Colony means a country or any geographical area which is ruled by another country by the use of its power. Under colonial rule, the country which is under the colony suffers a huge loss in every sector of the economy, they also suffer a change in the social and cultural aspects because the ruling country always tries to establish their culture in the colonial country. Under the colonial rule, the ruling country always tries to make profits for their home country by using the resources, the manpower of the colonial country, ruling country do not promote any kind of development programs in the colonial country, they never allow any kind of activities in the country which can result in the end of the regime of the ruling country, no political elections held, no social gathering, etc
Post-colonial countries are those countries which are ruled by any another powerful country, after the end of any colonial rule, the independent country is in the condition of shortage of food items, high unemployment rate, famine, below poverty line population in large number, etc As we know that The Republic of India was the colony of Britishers, who ruled India for 200 years but after the independence from Britishers and after the introduction of Globalisation in India, there are lots of changes takes place in India there are-
1.Indian economy grows more after the introduction of globalization.
2.Private firms and multi-national companies are allowed to invest in the country.
3.Foreign competitions improve the quality of the product and standard of living.
4.Indian economy shifts from agrarian to service as well as the manufacturing sector.
5.Set- up of new industries creates job opportunities and reduced the poverty level in the country.
Political changes also take place after post-colonial rule, lots of parties with different aims and mottos were formed within the country, regular elections are taking place, and all the political parties are free to practice their rights and responsibilities. Social and cultural changes also take place as India is a democratic country every person of the society is free to practice their culture according to their religion, citizens are also free to choose any religion. etc
(Note-I have taken India as example for the better understanding of the question.)
