Solutions

Expert Solution

Answer. Mouth-oesophagus-cardiac stomach-fundic-pyloric stomach-duodenum-jejunim-ileum-ascending colon-transverse colon-descending colon--caecum-rectum-anus.

Liver and pancreatic secretion reach duodenum through common hepato-pancreatic duct that opens into duodenum through Sphincter of Oddi.

Epiglottis is a kind of lid on the glottis, it prevents the passage of food into the trachea as it covers it.

Epiglottis is not essential for survival so if a person is not born with it he or she will survive on medical aid.

Mechanical digestion means converts the bigger size pieces into the smaller ones. This type of digestion is done by teeth in our mouth. As a result of mechanical digestion bolus is formed, then through peristaltic movements in oesophagus it reaches cardiac stomach.
