Introduction:

Production Management is basically the adequate executing of company’s production along with the help of employees, raw materials, machines, methods etc. These resources are used to manufacture the product of the company. The company assigns the resources, space, machines, methods, materials to manufacture the desired product so that the company can sale the products and earn the revenue and profit for the organization. Production depends on many factors in the organization. These factors can be optimized to have optimized production for the organization. The reason for explore optimization is that optimization results in better revenue and profit generation with the given set of input resources for the organization. Thus optimization is the way of business and it is the essential part of the organization to achieve their desired objective and goal for the organization.

Production Optimization and its category:

Production optimization is defined as approaches used to optimize the production so that the organization generates higher revenue and profit from the available resources. This production optimization also results in efficient usage of resources and improves the capability and competency of resources to deliver the desired objective in better, cheaper and faster ways.

The two categories of production optimizations are as below

• Production of Optimization: This is defined as the carrying out the production of the optimized setup or product line. Thus this means that the production being carried out for the optimized product line of the organization. The product line or set up is optimized with optimization in the area of man, machine, method, material etc. Thus all the key factors of the production are already optimized to the extent possible and then the production is carried out in the optimized conditions. Thus a production which is carried out when the input factors are already optimized, then this is known as production of optimization.
• Production for Optimization: The production for optimization means the production is being carried out in order to achieve the optimization in the production line of the organization. The current production is not in optimized condition and the production trails are planned to achieve the desired optimized level for production, so that optimization is achieved in the organization.

Benefits: Optimization results in real benefit for the organization and is the way of doing the business in the current competitive environment. Optimization means achieving higher revenue and profits from the given set of production line with the given input resources. Thus the input cost is same, but the out is higher, thus results in higher profit for the organization.

Conclusion: Optimization is the essential approach for the production environment and in order to improve the organization’s efficiency and effectiveness, the optimization needs to be explored and it should be a continual process for the organization. Optimization will involve efficient ways of doing the production in the organization.
