Articulation can be defined as a joint in the human body where two bones are attached to allow motion of the body parts. These joints are usually made by a combination of cartilage and fibrous connective tissue. In the human body, the joints can be of the following types:
All the three muscles, bones and joints are arranged together to contribute in body articulation. Muscles are connected to the bones by a hard cord resembling tissue which are called tendons. The tendons help muscles to pull on the bones they are attached to. Muscles pull on joints.
Cartilages perform the function of absorbing shock and reducing the friction and are placed between bone joints.
Ligaments help in stabilizing the joints and making sure that the joints don't move beyond their intended area of motion. When the muscles is contracted , the tendons react to bone and perform movement.
