The development started in 1970 's at Bell Labs research centre Launched in 1991 as a personel project by Finnish student Linus Torvalds This Os is launched in Palo Alto, California in October 2003 by  Andy Rubin, Rich Miner, Nick Sears, and Chris White
Different flavours of Unix has different cost according to the vendors. Linux is freely distributed downloaded freely,But priced versions are available The android OS avaible in mobile phones which ranges from cheap to high rate
