(Answer) There are four ethical values that are discussed profoundly in this piece. They are: virtue, rights, justice and utilitarianism. They are all four equally pivotal in order to maintain a stable business environment where the rights of an individual are not usurped or tainted in any way.
However, I might place the ethics of virtue and justice above the rest. Firstly, as an individual virtue and justice form an internal and external ethical link. This is because virtue is something that an individual contributes towards the maintenance of an ethical system and justice is what an individual has the right to receive from a well-maintained ethical system. They form two sides of a scale that might render a balance to a business or any social environment for that matter.
It is part of an individual’s social responsibility to conduct oneself virtuously so as to offer respect to individuals. This is expected in return from the behaviour of other individuals. This makes virtue something that might be received in return for virtue itself. Justice, on the other hand, is something that the system would owe a virtuous individual.
Virtue and justice along with the functionality of utilitarianism and human rights would form the four essential pillars or guidelines for moral behaviour.
