Data quality and date integrity are important issues as they have a significant impact on the output of information and knowledge used by the organization.
A. Discuss data quality by considering its major attributes.
B. Why data integrity is imposed within a database? State four ways data integrity is compromised.
A.Data quality is a fundamental component of information security and it is the ability of a given data set to serve an intended purpose.I mean if you have data quality, your data is capable of delivering the insight you hope to get out of it.
Major attributes of data quality are :-
Accuracy: Data goes through an extensive verification process for accuracy and veracity before it makes it to Technopedia.
Relevancy: The data collected is based on years of experience working with IT leaders and organizations of all sizes.
Interpretability: Data is easy to understand and actionable. The BDNA platform filters out the irrelevant data and simplifies the interpretation and meaning of the data so you spend more time executing and less time trying to understand the data.
Flexibility: Normally inflexible IT data becomes easy to adapt and extend when it has a consistent representation and taxonomy alongside a context for that data.
Security: The BDNA platform has been designed with security in mind. It does not touch personally identifiable information (PIO).
B. Data integrity is imposed within a database when it is designed and is authenticated through the ongoing use of error checking and validation routines. As a simple example, to maintain data integrity numeric columns/cells should not accept alphabetic data.Data must be kept free from corruption, modification or unauthorized disclosure to drive any number of mission-critical business processes with accuracy.
Database security professionals employ any number of practices to assure data integrity, including:
