20. How does day care affect the bond of attachment between child and parents? 21. What do all theories say emotions are linked with? 22. What is stranger anxiety and when does it occur? 23. What does research show about the relationship between early attachment and later emotional regulation of behavior?
This is relative question, it depends upon how the day care is and how much time are parents keeping their child in the day care? Hence if they are keeping for longer time even if the child cries, their relationship bond might get affected due to all these. The child may feel distant to the parents and would definately get closer to the day care handlers. He may acquire day care's eating styles and habbits. But if the parents spend enough time even after work with their children, child would definately get closer to them.
Many emotional theories say that emotions are aroused by physiological changes, one of the famous theory of Cannon-Brand also says the same that whenever there is external stimulus, people experience emotions. Same is the principle applied to day care, beyond parents, day care instructors, other children, other activities affect the emotions of children. it is the form of distress which occus when the children are exposed strangers, the child stares, cries, holding parents hand tightly. iT occus when child is 8 or 9 months old and last upto the age of 2 years.
This idea is proposed by Bowlby in his monotropic theory. The infants develop attachment toward a particular person and that attachment forms a model for future relationships. If the child has secure attachment the child develops good quiality of intimacy, friendships, if there is insecure resistant - they are likely to form poor quality of friendships
