During this procedure as we need to isolate the three components containing aspirin, acetaminophen, and caffeine. If we mistakenly change the order of the reaction it will definately affect the yield as well as purity of a product ( given here Aspirin and acetaminophen).
The percentage yield of a product is decreased if the reactants do not completely form the products. To make a given mass of product, a process with a low percentage yield requires more of the reactants than the process with high percentage yield. So, changing the order of reaction may change the concentration of reaction and apparantely affect the yield of aspirin and acetaminophen.
The purity of product aspirin and acetaminophen may change by change in concentrations of chemicals used in a reaction or even water used in it. Glasswares used may also cause changes in the purity of a product. Order of extraction from Excedrin affects the yield of both yield and purity of a product
