20) Give 3 examples of clear violations of the ‘human dignity formulation’ of the categorical imperative
3 examples of violations with respect to Kant formulations of categorical imperativeness are as follows
• First formulation is associated with law of maxim. Maxim is an objective action performed by an individual with an intention in mind. Stealing personal belonging of an individual is clearly one which violates maxim rule as the act is found to create issue to the victim who has lost his hard earned possession of an object. Human beings have a distinctive characteristic of reasoning capacity which is not available with other animals. Maxim is one which must be performed based on moral reasoning.
• The second formulation is one associated with humanity. When an individual is found to ignore a person who is found bleeding on a road post an accident is clearly a violation of humanity. Human beings should always respect and help each other for the welfare of mankind or survival of human species
• The third formulation is one associated with universality in action. This can be plainly said as violation of rules in a country. For example, when a law abiding citizen dumps trash on footpath he is immediately fined by the law authority as the action is not universally acceptable. The action must not be allowed as to ensure good hygiene and better health of citizens.
