Political Science- In your view, what is the most urgent issue(s) that our elected leadres (national or California or local) should address? Briefly discuss the issue(s) and your proposed solution(s).

A closer look at California from the past few years will give the insight of undergoing of rapid changes and uncertainty. But somehow like many states, it is managed to emerge from the recession of economy which is short of budget and high debts. It is facing many challenges. If we cannot put to end on continuing the cycle of neglect, ignorance, and postponement which results in future Californians to inherit. Few of the most urgent issues that elected leaders to address are:

(a) Supply of Water: Infrastructure is fully outdated, it needs to be revamped. the unreliability of water supply to be put to the end, There should be a reliable supply of water as per the proposed timings.

(b) Uncertainty of Revenue: This is majorly due to unpredictable tax structures and fancy budgets. This can be overcome by streamlining of tax structures and planning of the budget within the scope of revenues.

(c) Wall of Debt: Now State is facing the trauma of high debt and revenue deficit. This is due to lack of transparency and understating of debts. To put to end this Transparency and auditable to the public has to bring into the system.

(d)Healthcare: The costs of health care is surging day by day resulting in difficulty in access for the general public. Laws to be brought for controlling the prices of healthcare in order to make within the reach of the general public.

(e) civil engagement: This is also due to lack of transparency resulting in the eroding of public trust. Again there is a need to brought back transparency and to bring back the trust among the public and high voter turnout.

(f)Public retirement benefits: There is poor management along with the frequent missing of payments due to high debts. Management should be improved, the condition should be assessed and one-time bailout funding to be provided in order to overcome the situation.
