In anatomy planes we divide sections of our body for a better understanding. There are mainly four anatomical planes that are used -
Midsagittal section - the mid sagittal plane is also called as the median section of the sagittal section. In the midsagittal plane we divide body from middle into two equal parts - Right part and the Left part.
Like the right part will include right side of brain, right eye& ear, half nose &right side of lips, right arm, right legs.
Parasagittal section - in para sagittal section we divide body from the middle section but in this case, the Right and left parts are not equal as the division should be done away from median.
Coronal or frontal section - In this section ,we divide body from the side as Dorsal and ventral planes like the front which includes face is called ventral plane and the buttocks side is dorsal plane.
Transverse sectiom - in the anatomical section, we divide body into upper and lower halves. The upper half is called the cranial part as it includes brain and the lower part is called the caudal part representing for tail.
Midsaggital - Equal right and left plane
Parasaggittal - Unequal right and left planes
Coronal - ventral and dorsal plane
Transverse - upper/cranial part and lower/caudal part
