  1. What would happen if there was an error in the aminoacyl tRNA synthetase enzyme that has an anticodon of AAA but was attached to a lysine?
  2. Can you explain why a mixture of poly A and poly U nucleotides wouldn’t incorporate leucine into a protein?

Solutions

Expert Solution

If this happened, the protein coding will be wrong and the protein that is formed will be incorporating lysine instead of the phenylalanine that is normally coded by the AAA anticodon. Hence there would be a mutated protein.

The poly A and poly U nucleotides wouldnt incorporate into a protein because before this poly A tail of mRNA there is a 3'UTR that doesnt get translated and hence doesnt let the poly A of the mRNA to get translated. As for the poly U, it acts as a termination sequence for the mRNA and hence doesnt get translated.

If you have any query kindly comment before giving thumbs up. Thank you.
