Directions: As part of the learning activities, you performed a web search on company celebrations. Consider what your current employer does, or a previous employer did, to recognize extraordinary accomplishments and answer the following questions:

• How does your company celebrate its values and victories? How do these celebrations compare to what you found in your web search?
• How effective are the recognition or celebration experiences within the organization?
• What could the company do better in recognizing employees?
• What would you do for your employees as a manager or leader? Would you stick with the organization's efforts, or do something different? Explain.

1. Some of the ways that my company celebrates the victories are as follows:

• Having shout outs by the team members on the accomplishment of a particular job or for victory in a particular assignment.
• The other way that my company celebrates is by having a big bell fixed in the companies common area and when somebody accomplishes something, they go and have a gong on the big bell fixed in the common area. By doing so all the employees in the company would come to know that a certain individual has accomplished something.
• The other way of celebration is having a theme music for every individual person. When that particular person succeeds, the theme music of that particular person could be played for say 20 seconds.

2. These kind of celebrations in the company are very effective. Everybody has a feeling that they are getting recognized for the activity that they are performing. This kind of celebrations and recognitions motivates them to achieve greater heights within the organization.

3. Apart from the morale boosting celebrations the company could also reward the employees financially also. The employees would be more satisfied, if they had an increase in the monetary benefit, because of their accomplishments.

4. As a manager and leader, for most of the things I would stick to the way how the company is managing things. It is very important for the manager to fall in line with the culture and the operating processes within the organization. I would do something different only to boost the morale of the employee but completely withing the framework that presented in the organization.
