: If you were manager of learning and development at Rockwell Collins, where would you start in your efforts to improve the availability and effectiveness of company-sponsored training efforts? What suggestions would you have concerning how training is designed and provided? Furthermore, what suggestions do you have concerning who should provide the training (i.e., in-house trainers versus outside vendors)? Finally, how would you seek to “sell” your recommendations to top management?
ANSWER:-Yes,certain efforts to improve the availability and effectiveness of the company training effort can be done by the manager of learning and development at Rockwell Collins by the following ways :-
1) As the Rockwell company training was conducted only through class room instruction,the manager can organize different platform of training segments to the employees with different policies,procedure and planned training.
2) The manager of learning and development can organize the off the job training method.Off the job training method help the outside employees of the Cedar Rapids to get trained through case study method,incident method,business education,etc.
3) The manager of learning and development can recommend to the top management to plan some training programs via videos and conference.Such method will help the trainee of the Rockwell company to enhance their skills,knowledge, and performance according to the need and the demand of the work in the company with an effective way.
4) The outside training vendors can also be appointed to deliver the required training that helps to improve performance appraisal of the employees. If the outside training vendors will be appointed than ,there might be a possibility of huge amount of expenditures and less supervision involvement in the Rockwell company.
The outside training vendors must be appointed on those areas only where the risk of network communication problem can occurs.The training are important to adopt new technologies and the required method of work.
