How would the silent film, The General (1926) be different if it was a "talking picture?"
Introduction- The General (1926) was a great American film, the film was a comedy –action film which was inspired by the Great Locomotive Chase. The film’s background based on American Civil War and it was the great silent film of American History.
Comparison between Silent and Talking film-
The silent film always differ from talking film because in the silent film, character had to perform by expression only so that the film become more interesting.
If we compare silent and talking film, we could find some differences as shooting pattern, camera angles, background music and pace of sound. If we reproduce the film General 1926, lot of changes shall appear, we need to change the background music so that the emotional attachment may change, and the effect of real voice is always more influencing than creative music. In the film, we could have seen many attracting picture frame and plots and every plot have a specific task, so that a talking film is most effective than a silent film but in the silent film, we can imagine more than talking film.
