8. What is your interpretation of the performance of your class on this assessment? (4 points)
7) Relative performance ratings :
Really worse | Worse | Typical | Better | Really better |
C- | C+ | B | A | A+ |
Absolute performance ratings :
Really worse | Worse | Typical | Better | Really better |
14-21 | 21-26 | 26-32 | 32-39 | 40+ |
8)
On an overall, given that the maximum achievable score is 50, an average of 29.85 is quite representative of the whole class. Given that only 4 people scored above 40 and more than half the class got below 30, the class performance could be said to be Below Average. Given that most people scored in the typical range with a standard deviation of 9.06 from a score of 29.85. Another possibility could be that the assessment is a low scoring one inherently and that's mainly why the students have scored relatively low. The class isn't marked by many outliers or extreme values and the measures of data like mean, SD, etc. are representative of the whole class.
Cheers!
