Training and compensation can be challenging issues for business professionals in a global economy. Timothy 3:16-17 and James 5:4
How the above verses are applicable to our Christian beliefs in terms of fairness and what is just?
Absolutely, Training and compensation can be challenging issues for business professionals in a global economy. The shift to globalization has given rise to a diverse work culture. In order to meet the growing business needs, the management needs to provide adequate training and fair compensation to the employees. In this context, the bible verses II Timothy 3:16-17 and James 5:4 play a critical role. All the scriptures of the bible are inspired by God.
Let us consider the bible verse II Timothy 3:16-17 in terms of training. The verse states that “Every scripture inspired of God is also profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction which is in righteousness.” The scripture states that the power of God works in their lives which helps them to live a life filled with purpose and achieves the purpose for what they were made. Adequate training to hone the skills of the employee in terms of teaching ethical values, for reproof or conviction, for correction, for training in righteousness so that they are equipped with good values and morals to do things of fair and just in a business environment.
Let us now consider the bible verse Jame 5:4 which states as below:
“Look! The wages you failed to pay the workers who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty.”. The verse states that fair compensation needs to be provided to the employees. If the employer fails to pay the compensation, then the employees’ cries would reach the ears of the Lord Almighty who would take vengeance on people (employer) who deprive the employees of their fair and just salary. This Christian verse is a strong advice for the businessmen who need to practice fair acts in their business journey.
