Training and compensation can be challenging issues for business professionals in a global economy.
What are the opportunities and obstacles we face as individuals of faith?
Training & compensation are the
two most important HR functions that pose a significant challenge
as these roles are closely related to the productivity, efficiency
and employee turnover in the organization. A faith of the
individual, creates opportunities as well as obstacles in training
& compensation to fix different issues within the
organizational setting.
The first opportunity is to design and deliver training to the
employees and fix their compensation according to the guidelines
mentioned in the faith such as Christianity. Here, the biblical
reference will be taken and people will be trained so that the
organization as well as social needs are fulfilled. On the basis of
skills, ability and qualification will also be fixed. The second
opportunity is to bring ethical conduct in offering training &
compensation that consider the morality and value for the consumers
apart from the performance. Hence, attention is given upon the
behavioral training also.
Though there are obstacle also. The changing business environment
and the social system are the first obstacle. The many aspects of
the faith that were very true in the past, may not be relevant
today. The second obstacle is that employees belong to different
faiths and beliefs and methods of different faiths can clash also.
It does not create synergy in the organization. Hence, it is
important for the professionals to prepare a common minimum set of
values and method that is acknowledged and valued by everyone in
the organization.
