The difference between Histogram and Frequency Polygon :
A histogram has many points that are represented by the rectangles. The rectangles are formed by the x and y axis points. The top of the rectangle is the x axis. There are many of these little rectangles on the Histogram.Rectangle consider class width as rectangle width. And class frequency is rectangle height. In case of histogram, it is supposed that they are evenly spread over the class interval.
The Frequency Polygon is plot the frequency point on the graph
then join by line. Frequency point consider as knots on line.
Frequency ploygon consider mid-point between class interval as
x-values and frequency as y- values. In case of frequency polygon,
it is assumed that all frequencies in a particular class are
concerned at the mid point of that class.
Frequency polygon is an improvement over histogram because it provides a continuous curve indicating the causes of rise and fall in the data.
