What is an Integrative Review? What is a Meta-Analysis? What is a Systemic Review? What is the differences between the three?
SYSTEMIC REVIEW: It is a type of literature review which uses systematic methods to collect secondary data, research studies and synthesis those findings either qualitatively or quantitatively.
INTEGRATIVE REVIEW: It is a general review in which existing literature is used as systematic process. It is said to be integrative or inclusive as it involves both qualitative and quantitative methods.
META ANALYSIS: It is a statistical analysis. It combines the results of multiple scientific studies. It can be quantitative, formal or epidemiological study to assess the results of previous research to get a conclusion about that body of research.
Difference between integrative review, systemic review and meta analysis:
Systemic review specifically includes experimental research studies and the purpose of this is to reach some conclusions regarding the topic. Integrative review commonly includes non experimental research like case studies, observational studies and also include practical applications, theory and guidelines. In meta analysis, it is the study of carefully analysed data selected data from the previous studies is combined to bring more rigor to a statistical analysis. No additional experimental research work is done in meta analysis.
