The procedure is conducted by making an incision in the public region of a male patient and the Vasa deference is cut and tied to the opposite ends such that the sperm production is permanently stoped . This is a simple procedure

The human body produces sperm in the testis with the help of the hormone testosterone . The vase deference even though the previous produced sperm in the male reproductive tract is still viable . Upto 10- 15 ejaculation after vasectomy there is sperm in the semen. Only after this the sperm will not be produced. A different contraception method should be used up to 20 ejaculation.
