Describe completely randomized and randomized complete
block designs. What are the assumptions underlying the use of each
experimental design? What is the main advantage of
blocking?
Three basic principles of design of experiments are.
1. Randomisation 2. Replication 3.Local control or Error control.
BLOCKING
blocking is used to reduce the experimental error contributed by nuisance factors. Randomization is then used to reduce the contaminating effect of the remaining nuisance variables. The analysis of the experiment will then focus on the effect of the varying levels of the primary factor within each blocks of the experiment .
