Manila:-

Manila is the capital of Philippines. The term Manila is commonly used to refer to the whole metropolitan area, the greater metropolitan area or the city proper. The officially defined metropolitan area called Metro Manila, the capital region of the Philippines, includes the much larger Quezon City and the Makati Central Business District. It is the most populous region of the country, one of the most populous urban areas in the world, and is one of the wealthiest regions in Southeast Asia. The city proper is home to 1,780,148 people in 2015, and is the historic core of a built-up area that extends well beyond its administrative limits. With 71,263 people per square kilometer, Manila is also the most densely populated city proper in the world.

Manila is a major center for commerce, banking and finance, retailing, transportation, tourism, real estate, new media as well as traditional media, advertising, legal services, accounting, insurance, theater, fashion, and the arts in the Philippines. Around 60,000 establishments operate in the city.

Manila is a major center for commerce and most attractive tourist destination of Philippines.Manila welcomes over 1 million tourists each year.Tourism is the important source of income. This is also a hub of BPOs and KPOs. This is the centre of Phillippines's culture. Its also provide the employment to major part of workforce of Philippines. There are number of Medical colleges, management collages, universities and other educational institute there. These institutes also attract the overseas students.

So, overall this is the most important part of the country in respect of economy, politics, culture, and education .

Impact of COVID-19 in Metro Manila:

This time facing the problem of COVID-19 crisis.Manila has the major percentage of COVID-19 patients and death ratio. As per updated data the Philippine capital of Manila was on its way to marking the world's longest coronavirus lockdown when on Friday it reached 76 days under strict quarantine, a period only matched so far by the Chinese pandemic epicenter of Wuhan, even though the measures appear to have largely failed in flattening the curve of infections.Cut off by land, sea and air since Mar. 15, the city has continued to be the biggest COVID-19 hotspot in the Philippines, accounting for 64 percent of the over 15,500 cases in the country and 73 percent of more than 900 deaths.

The major attraction and source of income- tourism is affected badly. Because economy is shutdown so entry of tourist is banned there so hospitality industry, retail businesses, aviation industry is affected badly and thousands of people have lost their jobs. Because of major affect area of Philippines the health expenses is reached at highest level and other side the income of government and local bodies reduced drastically so, situation became more panic. There are number of political disputes are arising within city and country.

Overseas Students and other citizens of other's country are also Stuck their and institutions are not taking new admission. So, its affect badly to the students and institutions also.

Conclusion:

After discussion about all the economical, political, social impacts we can say that situation in Manila is panic and government should take a strong action to safeguard of the capital region and work for nation without any disputes. If government open the city then i will recommend that you should avoid to visit their until situation do not get normal.

Thank You
