One law that regulates pricing and the practices that involve it is the antitrust law. This makes certain that a company in any given market does not gain customers by utilizing price variabialities or differences or forceful strategies and only because of their product differentiation and quality. The case i have selected for the purpose of this report is the case of microsoft.
To compete in the market, with the competition, Microsoft started to force their own web browser over the users of others in order to gain an advantage by using unfair means. This action was not appropriated by the government which then told Microsoft to change their. Policies in order to bring them in check.
This was a necessary step by the government in order to stop the policies and strategies of Microsoft to convert the user of different browsers to their own. Hence, the decision was appropriate. Playing unfair has in fact been a serious problem for the market.
