Write the
Molecular Equation, AND Ionic Equation, AND Net Ionic Equation for the following reactions.
1. Potassium hydroxide and hydroiodic acid
2. Hydrochloric acid and ammonium hydroxide
Molecular Equation
HCl (aq) + KOH (aq) ----> KCl (aq) + H2O (l)
Ionic Equation
Splitt the ions except "spectator" ions. Here "spectator" ion is water. because it is a insoluble molecules can't be broken
H+ (aq) + Cl- (aq) + K+ (aq) + OH- (aq) ----> K+ (aq) + Cl- (aq) + H2O (l)
Net Ionic Equation
cancel the ions by seeing on the reactant side and product side of the equation
H+ (aq) + OH- (aq) ----> H2O (l)
Molecular Equation
NH4OH (aq) + HCl (aq) ---> NH4Cl (aq)+ H2O (l)
Ionic Equation
Splitt the ions except "spectator" ions. Here "spectator" ion is water
NH4⁺ + OH⁻ + H⁺ + Cl⁻ ----> NH4⁺ + Cl⁻ + H2O
Net Ionic Equation
cancel the ions by seeing on the reactant side and product side of the equation
H+ (aq) + OH- (aq) ----> H2O (l)
