A) If your distillation provided complete and perfect separation of the two substances, what would the GC results look like for the 2nd mL sample vial and the 6th mL sample vial?
B) Your two liquids differed by 24°C in boiling point. How would your GC results for the 2nd mL sample vial have been different if the liquids differed by 100°C?
A) Your question is imperfect. Either mentioned 2 mL and 6 mL sample vial or 2nd and 6th sample vial. I am providing solution for both the cases.
For 2 mL and 6 mL sample vial:
GC result does not differ for volume of sample. It differs only based on concentration or purity.
So if your distillation cuts are 100% pure you will get same peak at same RT (retaintion time) nfor both 2 mL and 6 mL sample vial.
For 2nd and 6th sample vial:
Let's take two compounds are A and B having RT (retaintion time) x and y respectively. And the boiling point of B is greater than the boiling point of A.
Again take 2nd vial contains only Compound A and 6th vial contains only compound B (as bp of B is higher than that of A).
Then you will get peak at RT x for 2nd vial, and get peak at RT y for 6th vial.
