Maxwell establish the relation between the equivalence of light and electromagnetic radiations.He was the first scientist who observed the relation between electric and magnetic field. According to maxwell prediction that electromagnetic disturbance should propagate through space at the speed of light and should exhibit the wave like characteristics of the light propagation.after two years Hertz designed a set of experiment tested maxwell's hypothesis.He used an oscillator made of polish brass knobs, each connected to an induction coil and separated by a tiny gap over which spark could leap .Hertz reason that if maxwell prediction were corrrect , electromagnetic waves (combination of electric and magnetic field) would be transmitted during each series of sparks. To the conformation of this Hertz made a experiment He used a simple receiver of loop wire .at the end of the loop were small knobs separated by a tiny gap .The reciever was placed several yards from the oscillator .if electromagnetic waves were spreading from the oscillator spark they would induce current in the loop that would send sparks across the gap .this occur when Hertz turned the oscillator producing the firat transmission and reception of electromagnetic waves .Hertz also noted that electrical conductors reflect the waves and that they can be focussed by concave reflector .accordong to Hertz nonconductors allow most of the waves to pass through.all these obsevations are observed by Hertz.
